My Gear

A couple people have said to me, "If you want good pictures, you have to have the best and most expensive gear."  I just laugh and say yeah right.  The gear I have is more than adequate for the jobs I shoot right now, and they do a more than excellent job helping me capture my subject.

My main camera is a Nikon D3000 with a 18-55mm VR lens.

I am really hoping to get a Nikon D5100, sometime in the near future for its video capabilities and selective color options.
The other camera that I use, mostly for macro and still life photography is my Canon Powershot SD1200 IS.

This camera comes in handy for small jobs and is small enough to fit in a purse and carry along anywhere.  Its even small enough to fit in your pocket, but do not underestimate this camera!  Even though it is small the results look very professional as if shot with a more expensive camera.

For lenses, I usually use a Nikon 300mm lens.
This lens is a great tool for sporting events.  Everytime I shoot pictures for a football, basketball, etc, games, this is always attached to my camera.

For accesories I have the usual tripod, monopod business but I also have a Joby Gorillapod.  I LOVE this thing.  I take it everywhere and on every photoshoot.
Of course I have memory cards, card readers and hard drives, but doesn't every photographer?
For camera bags, I use thinktank.  They are my absolute favorite camera bags in the world.  They are super durable and there is room for pretty much everything in those bags!

Well, I think that is all my gear.....for now at least.
Comment and let me know what gear you have, and what kind of gear you like.
